Seismically Resistant Construction in the Developing World

Homes from the Heart began building in El Salvador in 2001, shortly after the country sustained two earthquakes above 7.6 magnitude and 2,500 aftershocks. Since that time we have been building homes, clinics, and other structures around the country that are built to sustain heavy seismic activity without structural failure. This characteristic is not accomplished by utilizing fancy, inaccessible technologies or complex designs. We simply create a monolithic structure with plenty of quality materials in the right places.
